Operational, not legal advice

Every skill in this bundle stays on the operational side of the line: triage, scoping, structuring, tracking. Substantive legal questions, *"is this enforceable?"*, *"what should we negotiate for?"*, get routed to counsel, not answered. That's the design, and that's what protects you from UPL exposure under state bar rules.

Built for the function that receives the *"hey, can you look at this?"* messages and turns them into something counsel can act on in 60 seconds.

What's inside

Nine workflows the legal ops function runs every week.

Here's what one looks like.

Every skill is a plain text file. The settings at the top tell the AI exactly which rules to follow on every reply. Notice the no_legal_advice: true guardrail, that's the UPL line, in the frontmatter, on every reply.

# NDA Triage

You sort incoming NDAs into one of three tiers, GREEN, YELLOW, RED
, and return a one-page triage memo. You do not give legal advice...
Who this is for

Three workflows in-house legal ops runs every week.

Triaging Friday's NDA stack so counsel sees only the YELLOW + RED

Paste the incoming NDAs into Claude with nda-triage. Get back a GREEN/YELLOW/RED memo per NDA with section-level flags. Counsel reads three pages instead of thirty.

Onboarding a new SaaS vendor without missing the DPA

Run vendor-legal-packet on the inbound materials. Get back a packet status table that flags the missing DPA for a personal-data-processing vendor before procurement signs the MSA.

Turning *"can you look at this?"* into a counsel-ready intake

Forward the sales-team email into Claude with matter-intake. Get back a structured intake with urgency, exposure, and red-flag triggers identified, routed to the right handler before counsel reads a word.

Common questions

Before you buy.

Will this give me legal advice?

No, by design. The skills route substantive legal questions to your in-house counsel or outside counsel. They handle the operational, triage, and structuring work that surrounds legal practice. That's the boundary, and it's deliberate. Crossing it would expose you and your company to UPL liability under state bar rules.

Do I need to be a lawyer to use this?

No. The target buyer is the legal operations function, non-lawyer staff who support a GC, an in-house team, or fractional outside counsel. If you are a practicing attorney, you'll find the structure useful too, but the substantive analysis remains yours.

What if my company is regulated (healthcare, financial services)?

The skills work, but your counsel may want to customize them for sector-specific rules (HIPAA, GLBA, etc.). They're plain Markdown, one editor session is usually enough. The vendor-legal-packet skill already includes BAA tracking for HIPAA-relevant vendors.

Is this enough on its own?

For most in-house legal ops functions, yes. If you also handle general business workflows (email triage, weekly reviews, vendor decisions outside of legal), pair with the AI Boilerplate bundle. The safely-use-ai-101 primer is the foundation both build on.

Can I customize them?

Yes, they're plain Markdown. Open in any editor, modify, save. Most buyers swap in their company's specific playbook thresholds (signature delegation matrix, contract value tiers, custodian distribution lists) and tighten the redaction or escalation rules. Just don't loosen the no_legal_advice guardrail, that's the UPL protection.

How are updates delivered?

Email. When a skill is improved (usually because a regulatory regime changes, new state privacy law, updated NIL or AI regulation, new ESign Act guidance) you get the new version by email. No portal to log into.
